It’s within this context that we’ve been raising the bar in terms of integrity; working hard to provide brands and supply chains with the assurance they need while supporting them to comply with regulations. We’ve also been working to help farmers and supply chains to implement regenerative practices in the most effective and impactful way possible.
Our work is made all the more urgent against a backdrop of record biodiversity loss, widespread soil degradation and worsening extreme weather conditions. This makes the growing awareness of regenerative agricultural as an effective alternative to conventional farming both welcome and increasingly vital.
We’re acutely aware of the many challenges facing farmers today. As a fundamental pillar in continued global food security, it’s essential to support producers to continue the increasingly demanding job of growing our food in a sustainable way while restoring and protecting the environment.
We hope our new Carbon Insetting Programme, a major project that we developed throughout 2024, will provide farmers with an additional and much deserved financial reward for their vital work. Farmers earn carbon insetting units in return for their regenerative efforts, in which supply chain operators and brands can invest to reduce their carbon footprint within their own supply chains. We’re looking forward to seeing just how much this programme can benefit both farmer livelihoods and reduce supply chain carbon footprints in the coming years.
In this report we’re pleased to present our progress over the past year in more detail, highlighting our most notable achievements of 2024, standards developments and both our uptake and impact results from around the globe. Throughout we share stories and testimonials from our partners who are reaping rewards thanks to the implementation of regenerative farming practices.
Still, there’s more to do, and a lot of exciting work on the horizon; improving our data assurance system, developing a third-party accreditation route and proving better access to impact data. You can read more about this in our Future Plans.
